My name is Shane Beschen, I live on the North Shore of Hawaii with my wife Sofia and my two sons Noah and Koda. I have been a professional surfer for the past 20 years and now I find myself teaching my sons and all their friends how to surf and skate. The B.Y.C. stands for The Beschen Youth Compound, and it's just a funny nickname for the Beschen's house, which is an acre of land right across the street from the gnarliest stretch of beach in the world. On a daily basis we have kids going crazy at our house, skating, flipping on the trampoline, playing video games, surfing across the street or just running around. This blog is about living and raising kids in an action sports environment, having fun, and focusing on the importance of family.

Every year we travel to Florida to visit our family and friends. Up in New Smyrna we have great times with Hopper and his family and have met some really cool people. Noah has really excelled in his skateboarding skills and this time around he really stepped up to the plate. This ramp in Port Orange Florida really gave him a test. Up and coming Skate phenom Jordan Price and his family shared their home and ramp with us. Here is Noah dropping in on the 15 foot monster.
